Is Signal Ark free?
Yes — Signal Ark has a free tier that includes curated signal packages, the full waterfall viewer, the SETI Academy intro lessons, and the Cosmic Gallery. Optional in-app purchases unlock the full archive and cloud journal sync.
What are the in-app purchase options?
3-Day Pass ($1.99) — one-time, unlocks Explorer access for 3 days.
Monthly Explorer Access ($6.99/month) — auto-renewing subscription. Includes a 3-day free trial for new subscribers.
Yearly Explorer Access ($39.99/year) — auto-renewing. Best value for regular users.
Open the Settings app on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → find Signal Ark → tap Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. Cancellations cannot be processed through us — all billing is managed by Apple.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases must be requested through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to process refunds directly.
Is the data in Signal Ark from real radio telescopes?
Signal packages are clearly labeled with their data status: Real Observation (derived from actual observatory data, credited to the source), Curated Archive (from public open data archives like Breakthrough Listen), or Educational Simulation (synthetic data generated for learning purposes). We always display source credits.
My purchase isn't showing up / I lost my access
Open Signal Ark → tap Access in the bottom tab bar → tap Restore Purchases. This will re-sync your purchases from Apple. If the issue persists, please contact us with your Apple Order ID.
The waterfall viewer is blank or not loading
Make sure you have an active internet connection when first downloading a signal package. After a package is downloaded, the waterfall works offline. If you continue to see issues, try force-quitting the app and reopening it. Still stuck? Contact us.
Does Signal Ark store my personal data?
No. Signal Ark does not ask for your name, email, or any identifying information. An anonymous random identifier is generated on your device for entitlement syncing only. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What iOS version do I need?
Signal Ark requires iOS 17.0 or later. It is optimized for iPhone. iPad support may be added in a future release.
I found a signal anomaly — what do I do?
Tap the anomaly in the waterfall viewer to see its details and scoring. You can save it to your Signal Journal with a note. For extraordinary anomalies, the Journal lets you export your notes. Remember: most anomalies are RFI (radio frequency interference) from terrestrial sources — but that's exactly the kind of thing citizen science is for.
